Missoula, Montana targeted the improvement of mental health outcomes and decrease obesity in Missoula’s three lowest-wealth neighborhoods. Accomplishments include meaningfully engaging residents, building health equity into key city policies and plans, and securing nearly $1 million for new sidewalks. They are a part of Invest Health Field Building.
During their Invest Health Field Building year, Missoula seeks to make neighborhood voice central to their work, bringing new resources to the table, including capital funds, systems, and policies to advance affordable and healthy housing projects in order to improve the mental, social, and physical health of the residents. Due to COVID-19, the national Invest Health convening planned for Fall 2020 was converted to a virtual meeting. Missoula told captured the moment of their work in this video:
