Savannah received $60,000 to help low income neighborhoods throughout the city.

The Reinvestment Fund and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation awarded 50 mid-size cities, and Savannah was one of them.

Now city and community leaders will work with officials from other selected cities on how to improve housing and create jobs.

Alderman Carol Bell is representing the city along with several other community leaders that will create an Invest Health team.

“I would love to be able to use some of the information or the best practices gathered over the next 18 months to help us transform some of our neighborhoods.” said Bell.

The chosen cities will meet in Philadelphia, PA next month, for the first of many meetings during the next year and a half.
