Using the examples of Chelsea in New York City and Logan Square in Chicago, examines the risk of community development efforts to transform low-income communities resulting in original residents being displaced or feeling like strangers in their own communities. Proposes approaches, including use of Health Impact Assessments, to mitigate this risk.
